Wedding favorites from 2011 December 30, 2011
I am continually, pleasantly shocked that since 2000 I’ve been doing something that I love. Something that brings me joy and gets me jumping out of bed in the morning. With the economic situation I expected photography would be considered a “luxury” item. This has been such a surprising year. 2011 continued to bring us amazing clients who believed in us and gave us complete creative freedom. Clients that recognize the importance of photography; That it captures all aspects of beauty in life. It preserves family history and helps us all recollect our past. THANK YOU to all of you trusted us to capture your history. May 2012 bring you many blessings and much love!
My Greatest Gift December 24, 2011
I’m writing with a thankful and full heart. For so many things I’m grateful, it’s embarrassing.
I consider my family the biggest and most amazing gift. I cherish these guys through and through. Through the tantrums, the barf-O-ramas, the tears, the belly laughs, the mow hawks….I wouldn’t change a thing. We’ve grown up together, these 3 and I. Every stage in our family has brought new discoveries, challenges and more love. I look forward to what our future holds as our family grows up…. new worlds to explore, new relationships to form, new territories to visit. I hope I accept it all with grace and continued gratitude. For what I have had and for what will come. I wish you all laughter and so much love this new year and always!

Kevin & Nichole/Quite possibly Roseville’s cutest couple. November 18, 2011
Nichole/Kevin and I met through a mutual friend about 5 years ago. Since then I’ve had the privilege of photographing and witnessing their unique and refreshing love. An absolute adoration that seems to get stronger as the years tick by. Nichole is a fellow photographer ( http://www.nicholebremerphotography.com ) and I’ve been lucky enough to work out a photo trade with her. She’ll be taking our family photos next week. There are a LOT of photos here as these two are just so photogenic….I had the hardest time narrowing them down. (Here’s where I’m going to rip off Oprah… ) “What I know for Sure”…. Nichole loves her Mr. WAY more than she loves whiskey. (evidence in photos below)
The Sordahl Family November 17, 2011
We had the pleasure of photography Shannon and Erik’s wedding several years ago. It’s always so much fun to see how their families grow and expand. Love getting to photograph them along the way. This little guy was a bundle of energy and basically didn’t stop moving for the hour or so we were shooting. Such a cutie!!
Ali and Matt are engaged! November 16, 2011
A beautiful Napa Valley setting for an adorable, lively couple. Ali and Matt have set their wedding for Oct. of 2012 and we couldn’t be more excited to work with them. Congratulations you two.
A lesson in friendship/trials and errors in underwater boudoir. October 17, 2011
I often wonder how I got so lucky to have such good, good, good, good friends? One friend so amazing, she willingly (or so- so willingly) entered a uncomfortably cool swimming pool in the middle of October adorned with nothing more than a breezy square of fabric. Yes, I’ve been told I have tendency towards stubborn-ness (I prefer determined)… but there are times I feel so super inspired or want to experiment with a project that I’ve been turning over and over in mind for months that it’s just hard not push the issue. And sometimes the issue/project just needs a particular person. Cue in Ms. A. My long time, very special friend from way, way back. When explaining my current obsession, she dutifully nodded, made a few hmms and ahhs and then constantly wondered out loud “Why, why, why didn’t this happen in July?? No, really? Why?” But she gets me. She loves me. And she very familiar with my ninja like skills in pouting, begging and cajoling. It was harder than we expected. It took hours. Issues to resolve; too much fabric, not enough fabric, staying at the bottom of the pool. All the while, look goddess-like, don’t kick too much etc etc. Did I mention the water was really cold? I have to hand it to her, there was minimal complaining and she was determined that I have an image that I loved. Here she is in her goose-bumpy, teeth-chattering glory. I love you Ms. A! You are beautiful inside and out.

Firehouse Sacramento Wedding by Jessica Giblin Photography

This Sacramento modern wedding proves you can elegantly combine contemporary elements with classic looks. There are bridesmaids in black cocktail dresses, a black and white polka-dot wedding cake, and a sleek bridal bouquet with purple calla lilies all making a great style statement against a historical venue full of ambience and charm. The Firehouse Restaurant in old Sacramento was a wonderful traditional contrast for this modern event and provided the perfect atmosphere for the beautiful images created by Jessica Giblin. Built in 1853 during the Gold Rush era, it boasts a reception venue filled with old world memorabilia, rococo chandeliers, twelve-foot ceilings and – the enchanting setting for this pretty Summer affair - a stunning New Orleans’s style courtyard. This gorgeous couple celebrated with guests under a canopy of mulberry and Chinese elm trees, surrounded by ivy-covered brick walls, fountains and twinkling string lights. In essence . . . purely magical!
