I often wonder how I got so lucky to have such good, good, good, good friends? One friend so amazing, she willingly (or so- so willingly) entered a uncomfortably cool swimming pool in the middle of October adorned with nothing more than a breezy square of fabric. Yes, I’ve been told I have tendency towards stubborn-ness (I prefer determined)… but there are times I feel so super inspired or want to experiment with a project that I’ve been turning over and over in mind for months that it’s just hard not push the issue. And sometimes the issue/project just needs a particular person. Cue in Ms. A. My long time, very special friend from way, way back. When explaining my current obsession, she dutifully nodded, made a few hmms and ahhs and then constantly wondered out loud “Why, why, why didn’t this happen in July?? No, really? Why?” But she gets me. She loves me. And she very familiar with my ninja like skills in pouting, begging and cajoling. It was harder than we expected. It took hours. Issues to resolve; too much fabric, not enough fabric, staying at the bottom of the pool. All the while, look goddess-like, don’t kick too much etc etc. Did I mention the water was really cold? I have to hand it to her, there was minimal complaining and she was determined that I have an image that I loved. Here she is in her goose-bumpy, teeth-chattering glory. I love you Ms. A! You are beautiful inside and out.
